Digital Pen Tablets - Lightweight Computing Power for your Busy Life

Digital pen tablets are enormously popular right now and with good reason. Everything revolves around computers these days. They play a role in everything from shopping and working to schoolwork and entertainment. Using a digital pen tablet is extremely useful and practical, while keeping you on the leading edge of technology.

Digital pen tablets have actually been around since the early 90’s. They have become very popular over the years due to their lightweight style which makes them easily portable for busy people on the go. Doctors, nurses, artists, students, and business people are among those making use of the digital pen tablet technology.

There are many operating systems that are compatible with the digital tablet. Microsoft Vista or Microsoft XP editions remain the most popular, though Linux and Apple are still preferred by some users.

Despite their small size, the computerized tablets offer nearly all of the same features as a laptop including significant memory, high-end processors, and a large amount of storage on the hard drive.

There are three types of computer tablets. These three types are convertible notebooks, slate computers and hybrids. Each serve the same basic purpose, and choosing the right one just comes down to personal preference.

The slate style digital pen tablets are defined as PC's without a keyboard. The slate computer tablet is a version widely used in the health care industry because of its lightweight design. It is a great deal lighter than your average laptop PC. Slate computer tablets can recognize hand written text, and your text can then be translated so that it is recognized by your PC. Most slate styles start at about one thousand dollars.

Convertible style computer tablets have an attached keyboard incorporated with them. They are heavier than the slate style, and they look more like your typical laptop computer. One difference that the convertible style has over the traditional laptop is the ability of the screen to rotate 180 degrees, while laying flat. This cool feature makes reading much easier. Convertible style computer tablets are the most popular of the three types simply because some people are still resistant to using the digital pen. Convertible tablets start around seven hundred dollars, making them somewhat more affordable than the slate style models.

The hybrid version of the computer tablet is the least used style. This is not due to underperformance, by any means. The Compaq models have won numerous industrial awards. The detachable keyboard caters to all users because of the versatility. The hybrid models also start at about the seven hundred dollar range.

Computer tablet sales have been on the rise during the past few years due to their ease of use and convenient size. Investigating the features of each style will help you choose which one is right for you.
